The seventh edition of Mayo Clinic Internal Medicine Review 2006-2007 reflects the continued commitment by the faculty of the Department of Internal Medicine to its mission of scholarship.
One of the key traditions in medicine is the passing of knowledge from physician to physician. In 1928, William J. Mayo, MD, wrote, “The glory of medicine is that it is constantly moving forward, that there is always more to learn. The ills of today do not cloud the horizon of tomorrow, but act as a spur to greater effort.”* This edition is a response to these themes. My hope is that this book will aid in the study of medicine and in the care of patients.
